On January 10, 2022, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development organized a conference on the implementation of the project on traceability of essential food products of animal origin in Dong Nai province for the period 2019-2020 with orientation to 2025.
The conference was attended by the leaders of the departments, sectors, the High-Tech Association of Ho Chi Minh City and the representatives of the local authorities, supermarkets, convenience stores, collective kitchens, livestock farms, pig slaughterhouses...in the province.
At the conference, Mr. Tran Lam Sinh - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dong Nai province said that in the past time, with the enthusiastic participation of enterprises, convenience stores, collective kitchens, small traders, livestock farms...they have contributed significantly to the initial success of the project, creating trust for consumers and enhancing the brand of Dong Nai agricultural products on the market.
Mr. Dao Ha Trung - Chairman of the High-Tech Association of Ho Chi Minh City said that in more than two years, together with the companies and experts of the Association, they surveyed, researched at livestock farms, pig collection centers, slaughterhouses, supermarket chains, collective kitchens...the project has been initially deployed. According to Mr. Trung, the traceability project (TXNG) will help the state management agencies to control food safety well. In addition, the project also contributes to accumulating digital assets for the livestock sector, improving the position of livestock products. This is also a prerequisite for Dong Nai to build a portal for TXNG of all agricultural products consumed in and out of the province and exported.
Also at the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai - Deputy Director of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, said that the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on all of us was not small in 2021. Right after the social distancing period ended, life returned to a new normal, the project was quickly deployed and achieved certain positive results. Specifically, from December 23, 2021 to January 9, 2022, the project was tested at 02 slaughterhouses, 01 market and 12 convenience stores, with a total of 423 pigs equivalent to 42,300 kg of pork being traced for origin.
Concluding the conference, Mr. Tran Lam Sinh said: In a short time, the project has done a lot of work, besides the efforts of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development - the lead unit, there is also the effective support from the High-Tech Association of Ho Chi Minh City as well as the departments, sectors, local authorities, supermarkets, convenience stores, collective kitchens...in the province. The essence of the problem is to make people trust Vietnamese agricultural products, support livestock farmers, small traders, connect the market for product consumption. In the near future, the project will attract more and more enterprises, slaughterhouses and livestock farms to participate. In addition, domestic consumers also increasingly need transparency for goods and products, especially food and foodstuffs, then TXNG is considered as the "key" to create trust for consumers. This helps them feel secure using products with clear origin and quality assurance; at the same time, it helps prevent commercial fraud and contributes to building a brand for livestock products.
